Be careful Korra.
How this scene should have happened.
I feel like I should either punch someone or give them a hug.
Popping someone’s bubble of ignorance and forcing them to deal with reality.
That’s actually a really literal description of this gif
Hannity kicked off an interview with Democratic committeewoman Patricia Bynes by pointing out that she was not present when black teenager Michael Brown, who was unarmed, was shot by a white police officer on Aug. 9.
"You were not there. So you don’t know if this case is about police brutality, do you?" he asked.
"No, I do know that this case is about police brutality," Bynes said. "We’re talking about excessive force here. There is no way that a young man that is unarmed should have two shots in his head. That’s a little excessive. That’s what we mean when we say police brutality—"
"Let me educate you, committeewoman," Hannity cut in.
"No, I don’t need your kind of education," Bynes shot back.
"Legally let me educate you again," Hannity said later. "If [Brown] was charging at the police officer, the police officer, by law, that would be defined as justifiable use of force. You’re aware of that, right, committeewoman?"
"I’m very much aware of that," Bynes responded. "But there’s no way an unarmed man should have two shots in his head and four in his body. So you keep wanting to talk over the facts, but I think you need the education here."
CNN Host: Why Aren’t Ferguson Police Using
In a recent televised report, white CNN news anchor Rosemary Church suggested that police use water cannons - better known as hoses - on protestors in Ferguson, MO. Her black co-anchor, Errol Barnett, flashed Church a look to shrivel the soul. Social media went wild over the moment, sharing shots of Barnett’s face across Twitter. Some suggested that Church was entirely ignorant of the use of fire hoses against black protestors during the Civil Rights Movement of the 1950s and ’60s. CNN has come under fire in the last few weeks for its poor reporting surrounding the Ferguson protests.
because this apparently…
is a much…
better way of…
dealing with people who are…
peacefully protesting and…
asking to be treated as human beings instead of animals. If people are protesting because of mistreatment and dehumanization, then martial law, antagonizing, tear gas, rubber bullets, bullying, lying, terrorizing, pistol whipping, tazing, beating, throwing grenades, killing and shooting people WILL NOT solve the problem, It only exacerbates it.
America can do this all day….
but here’s the thing…those who do not learn from the past are doomed to repeat it…and you still haven’t listened, heard, or learned.
How’s that working out for you??
Social Media and ‘Anti-Black’ Safe Spaces
As we all know, social media has really been instrumental in getting out the word about Ferguson over the last two weeks, but what about people that ‘don’t want to hear about it anymore’ and blacklist certain terms from their social media? In this video I just wanted to get really in-depth about how strange this is, and what it really means when a white person says their fantasy or ‘escape from reality’ is devoid of color.
As always, thanks for watching.
